Maglie retires Phillie first baseman Marv Blaylock on a ground out to end the game and join baseball immortality. Play begins in the top of the ninth inning with Al Helfer at the television microphones and the Dodgers leading 5-0. Helfer announces that Happy Felton's "Talk To The Stars" program will follow the game. When the game ends, Helfer proclaims " Ladies and Gentlemen, a no-hitter for Sal Maglie." Maglie becomes the oldest pitcher to toss a no-hitter since Cy Young in 1908.
